My documented evolution of handwork over the last twenty years or so. I wish that I had begun to photograph my work when I started, but sadly...I was more interested (and excited) to give all of my completed items away as gifts! I hope you enjoy seeing my work as I evolve and grow in my ability, and as I post completed projects (and projects in process).

Purple and Green, favorite colors!
I was out in the back yard this morning tending to my garden before the 100 degree temperatures make it unbearable to be out there. Ye gads! It's early June and we're already having temps in excess of 105, and this is actual temperature, not heat index! I hate to see what August will bring... I guess that I can say that with those hot temperatures, comes the harvesting of bounty from my garden. I've posted a picture below of some of my harvest this morning. I did not want to harvest everything that is close to being ready, because I can't eat all of it at once! Now, if I can only beat the Mockingbird to the tomatoes!
This is my first experience with growing blue potatoes, and I've never tasted one that I remember. I usually grow red potatoes, and I planted one slip, but haven't begun to dig those yet. Maybe I should hang on for the 4th of July and make a red, white and blue potato salad!

ReplyDeleteHI KATHY , I COME FROM GREECE. WHAT IS RED POTATO ...
ReplyDeleteHi Effie! A red potato is a small to medium size potato with very white, sweet flavor and a thin, red skin. They also have a lower starch content than some of the other potato varieties.
